When the season changes, it will be up to us to adjust to the environment. The sun will not wait until you are ready and the wind will not stop blowing just because you're whinging. In the survival game against nature, winning is adapting.
I like seasons.. when different things emerge that make life very exciting to live. I can take transitions from one season to another well enough to keep myself encouraged. But as soon as the real deal comes and the reality bites, it's a whole different story.
Our clothes either will be too thin or too thick. And we need a different pair of shoes. Seasons don't change you but they do transform your attitude - towards everything. You can still look back to what's behind you. To the land full of milk and honey and delicious fruits. To where the sun shines the whole year. To the comforts of home. But you know you've just gotta suck it up and keep on taking steps forward. And put on new garments throughout every season.
Imagine if we just have one suit that will fit all kinds of season. It grows lighter in summer and warmer in winter. It gives you a cool breeze in spring and wrap around your neck gently in autumn and it does this automatically. Imagine if this suit exists.. I think it does! This suit is called "putting on Christ"
But put on our Lord Yeshua The Messiah and do not be concerned for the desires of your flesh. (Romans 13: 14 Aramaic Bible in Plain English version)
Notice how God's people - when travelling through the seasons in the wilderness for 40 years, their clothes and shoes did not wear out.
Yet the LORD says, "During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. (deuteronomy 29: 5)
When we put on Christ, it's like brought under the shelter of His wings. It's like being hidden in IRON MAN suit. The world may go hotter and colder and shaky and crumbling, withered.. and burnt to ashes but you will be safe and whole.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3: 3)
Inevitably the season will change and it's your call to chose a wise outfit as a faithful believer ;) choose Christ and let His peace rule in your heart. X
